Meet Our Physical Therapy Aides



Dorothy Chan – Dorothy graduated from the University of Sydney, located in Sydney, Australia, with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Physiotherapy. Worldwide, the terms “physiotherapy” and “physical therapy” are used interchangeably. She practiced at Westmead Hospital, one of Syndey’s largest hospitals for orthopaedic, neurological and cardiopulmonary rehab. She has also worked as a sports physical therapist with soccer teams in Sydney and traveling teams throughout New South Wales. She is currently pursuing licensure as a physical therapist in California. She enjoys playing volleyball and ping pong in her free time.

Itchel Guzman – Itchel graduated from California State University Dominguez Hills with Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology. She has worked alongside athletic trainers providing on-field sports coverage for football and soccer players at El Segundo High School. Itchel plays soccer and enjoys hiking in her spare time.

Daniel Melendez – Daniel received a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from California State University Northridge in 2011. After graduating, he coached soccer at the high school level before starting to work in physical therapy specializing in therapeutic exercise.

Alissa Misawa – Alissa graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She became interested in pursuing a career in physical therapy while being treated for an injury and is currently preparing to apply to physical therapy school. Alissa enjoys taking spin classes, hip-hop dancing and weight-lifting in the gym.

Carly Neilson – Carly graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. She has certifications as a Level 1 Crossfit Trainer, Crossfit Olympic Lift Trainer, and USA Weightlifting Coach. Carly is now pursuing a career in Physical Therapy to better understand the human anatomy and to make her a better coach on and off the field. She is very enthusiastic about helping others achieve their goals and believes anyone is capable of doing anything as long as they have the will to do it.
